Two phrases people often get wrong

"I love you." You will see अहं त्वां प्रेमामि online, but there is no classical verb प्रेम्. The natural Sanskrit uses the verb स्निह्, which takes the loved one in the locative case: अहं त्वयि स्निह्यामि. The same verb gives स्नेहः, "affection".

"This too shall pass." The correct and simple form is एतदपि गमिष्यति — एतत् (this) + अपि (too) + गमिष्यति (will go), with sandhi joining the first two words. It is a popular tattoo; check every letter before you ink it, and see our Sanskrit tattoo guide.

Modern words in Sanskrit

Words like चलदूरवाणी (mobile phone) and सङ्गणकम् (computer) are modern coinages used by Samskrita Bharati, Sanskrit news and school textbooks. They are built from old roots — दूर (far) + वाणी (voice) = telephone — which is why Sanskrit can name new things without borrowing. More everyday words are in the Sanskrit dictionary.
