Who this edition is for

The English Calendar 2027 is the edition for people who want the Hindu calendar on their wall but don't read Devanagari — families abroad, second-generation kids learning their festivals, mixed-language households, and offices that want both the Gregorian and Hindu year in view. Every Hindu term is written in plain English letters: month names like Chaitra and Bhadrapada, Amavasya and Purnima, and Sankranti names such as Meena Sankranti.

Instead of Sanskrit verses or Hindi Dohas, each month carries a short quote of the month from a well-known writer or leader, so the calendar works as a gift for anyone, whatever their background.

Quote of the month — two samples

Taken from the sample pages shown below.

“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”

— Ralph Waldo Emerson · March page

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”

— Winston Churchill · August page

The Hindu terms on each page, in plain English

A quick key for first-time readers.

AmavasyaNew moon day — the end of a lunar month in most of India. Marked in gold.
PurnimaFull moon day — Holi, Raksha Bandhan and Guru Purnima fall on one. Marked in gold.
SankrantiThe day the Sun enters a new zodiac sign — Makar Sankranti in January is the best known.
Vikram SamvatThe traditional Hindu year count, about 57 years ahead of the Gregorian year (2083–84 during 2027).
Shaka SamvatIndia's national calendar year, about 78 years behind (1948–49 during 2027).
(est.)Festival dates marked this way are estimates — check them against a Panchang.

A note on accuracy

National holidays, Sankranti dates, and Amavasya/Purnima dates are calculated from verified astronomical data. Specific festival dates (Diwali, Holi, Janmashtami and others) are informed estimates — 2027's official Panchang has not yet been published by religious authorities at the time of printing, and these dates are clearly marked "(est.)" throughout the calendar. Confirm exact festival dates with your local Panchang before finalising rituals or travel plans.

Questions before buying

How do I receive the calendar after buying?

You'll receive the PDF file instantly after payment — no shipping, no waiting.

Are the quotes translated from Sanskrit or Hindi verses?

No — they're separate, well-known quotes from English-language and English-translated historical figures (Shakespeare, Lincoln, Marcus Aurelius and others), chosen specifically for this edition.

Can I get it printed and bound?

Yes — the file is designed for standard A3 printing. Any local print shop can print and spiral-bind it.

What if I have an issue with my purchase?

Write to us at hello@sanskritcalendar.com and we'll sort it out.

Does it work if I live outside India?

Yes, the Gregorian grid works anywhere. The Hindu dates are worked out for India, though. In the Americas a festival can sometimes fall one day earlier than the date printed, because the lunar day is counted from local sunrise. For exact local timing, check a Panchang set to your city.

Is there any Hindi or Sanskrit text on the pages?

No. Everything is in English, and Hindu terms are written in English letters. If you want Devanagari script, look at the Hindi or Sanskrit edition instead.

Where can I check the exact festival dates for 2027?

Festival dates in the calendar are marked "(est.)". Our free Hindu Festivals 2027 list has the calculated dates, with the weekday and Tithi for each.
