The dual number in this letter
Notice आवां सह भ्रमणाय गमिष्यावः — "we two will go for an outing". Sanskrit has a separate form for exactly two people (द्विवचनम्): आवाम् is "we two" and the verb गमिष्यावः agrees with it. With three or more friends it would be वयं गमिष्यामः. The same idea explains पित्रोः, "of the two parents". See how Sanskrit and Hindi grammar differ.
Writing to a girl friend
Address her as प्रिय सखि सीते, change प्राप्तवान् to प्राप्तवती, and if you are a girl yourself, close with तव अभिन्ना सखी.
